Backpackers road trip guide to Victoria 


Winning life in Victoria, Australia 

Stop 1: Start in Melbourne City 

- Catch a free tram around the city
- hop off to Wander the bustling streets, explore the hidden lane ways, do a spot of shopping, listen to the street performers play the harmonica/ dijerido
- Step out onto the edge at Eureka Tower 
- Head to the roof top cinema bar 
- Drinks and Dinner at the river on pony fish island 



Stop 2: Grampians National Park

- Pick up the camper van - wicked camper vans
- head west and begin the journey to Halls Gap, Grampians National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for koalas/kangaroo spotting!
- Drive up the windy mountains to the Boroka view point 
- Travel further to the Mackenzie Waterfalls have a splash around but be careful of the slippery rock surfaces. Don't forget to bring water! 
- Before dark get head back Down the mountains and Get set up at camp have a cook out




- Rise and Shine for breakfast in town (check out Livefast Lifestyle Cafe)
- Learn about aboriginal culture at Brambuk the National Park and Culture Centre 
- Take the 2km trek to the pinnacles from sundial car park or wonderland car park 
Look out and listen for animals
- The balconies 

Stop 3: Great Ocean road

- Drive down south to Port Fairy and grab dinner in the fisherman village 
- Camp on the coast Killambe 
- Wake up start the drive to great Ocean road
- If your here for the winter months (May to October) go to the whale nursery 
- Stop to wander and gaze at the incredible road formations (take a jacket it can get windy at the coast)
- The grotto
- London Bridge 
- Stop for lunch at Port Campbell 
- Loch and gorge 
- 12 apostles (for a more unique viewing experience take a helicopter ride)
- Drive through Otway National Park and stop for a walk through ancient forest with the tallest trees
- Watch surfers at the bay 
- Pier Seafood dinner
- Drive to camp in Big Hill Campsite



















- Wake up head back to GOR 
- Stop at the split point lighthouse go to the former stables tea rooms for a beverage and a toastie with a Victoria sponge to finish. Climb to the top of the light house $14pp
- kayaking on Anglesea River ($30 per kayak)
- Great ocean road chocolaterie watch the chocolate be made and hand pick your own selection box ($12.95 box of 6) 
- Head to the ferry $




Stop 4: Mornington Peninsula

- Relax at the peninsula hot springs 




Stop 5: Phillip island 

- feed kangaroos and get a koala selfie at Maru Koala and Animal Park
- go-karting at Grand Prix circuit 
- seal rock
- Penguin parade





Stop 6: Yarra Valley

- Yarra valley winery tour
- Healsville Sanctuary
- Puffing Billy Railway
