Ship Nights

There are 3 types of dress codes for evening/nights on the MSC Preziosa Cruise ship; gala nights, informal nights and theme nights. Each night has a wide variation for what people decide to wear, some dress very fancy others can be completely casual. The rules state that jeans/shorts/Tshirts are not permitted in public areas after 6pm but this was not enforced as each night many people chose to opt for casual attire.
The theme nights are not pre set so there is no hint as to what they might be which results in them barely being followed - I love a good theme but I cannot manage it unprepared and hence the reason why no one else seemed to join in on the themed nights

Gala Nights

The formal nights aboard the MSC are dubbed 'gala nights'. They held 2 during our 7 night cruise, I had only planned for one and did not realise that this night was held twice. During our second night I had not seen the notice about it being Gala night so was very sad to have missed dressing up in my gown that I was so excited to wear, luckily I was happily surprised to find that they would hold a second one. The suggested attire is cocktail dresses for the ladies and a lightweight suit, or dinner jacket for men. Many people took part in the dress code although there were a few not to make any effort - to each their own.
